In Singapore, an executor is a person or entity named in a will to carry out instructions to manage the affairs and wishes of the deceased person's estate.
Administrator is a representative appointed by the Court to collect, clear debts, and distribute the deceased's assets when there is no will, or when there is a will but no executor to carry out the instructions of a will.
Probate and administration is the legal process where the executor applies for a Grant of Probate or administrator applies for a Grant of Letters of Administration. Both grants are legal documents issued by the court for the executor or administrator to have the legal power to manage and distribute the deceased’s estate.
