LETTER OF WISHES

"Say what a will can't."

A will tells people what they're getting. It doesn't tell them how you want to be cared for, the small things that matter to you, or what you'd want said if you couldn't say it yourself.

That's what a Letter of Wishes is for.

What Is a Letter of Wishes?

A Letter of Wishes (LOW) is a non-legally binding document where you express what you want — in your own words.

It's not a will. It's not an LPA. It fills in everything those leave out — your values, your preferences, and the why behind your decisions.

It covers three areas most people never plan for properly:

  • If you lose mental capacity — how you want to be cared for if you can no longer communicate. Others will make decisions on your behalf. Without your guidance, they're guessing — and their best may not be what you want.

  • End of life — your wishes around medical intervention, funeral arrangements, and what follows

  • Legacy — messages for loved ones, reasoning behind decisions, things you'd want them to know

Because it's not legally binding, you can be honest and specific in ways a legal document never allows. And you can update it anytime.

Think about the things only you would know to mention — that you need checking every hour in care because sitting in your own poop is not something you'll tolerate. That you want walks in the park, but not when it's too hot. Nobody would think to ask. Without a Letter of Wishes, nobody would know.

Why Immortalize's Letter of Wishes Is Different

Most people end up with multiple scattered letters — one for their will, one for medical care, one for their funeral. Inconsistent, hard to find, easy to miss.

Immortalize's LOW brings it all into one place.

Write once, share smartly
Share only the relevant sections with each person. Your solicitor gets what relates to your will. Your doctor gets your medical preferences. Your caregivers get your care instructions.

Always up to date — automatically
Update your LOW anytime. Everyone with access always sees the latest version. No printing, no re-sending, no chasing.

Comprehensive
Covers legal, medical, financial, caregiving, funeral, legacy, dependents, pets, and more.

Guided, not overwhelming
Simple questions. Ready-made options. Helpful tips. YEPPA — Immortalize's built-in digital concierge — guides you through it naturally, even for topics you hadn't considered.

Flexible
Start with templates, personalise as you go. Complete it all at once or return anytime.

Stays connected
As you complete your LOW, YEPPA links the relevant people, instructions, and dependencies across your entire plan automatically.

Saves money on professional fees
Walk into appointments already knowing what you want. Fewer back-and-forths. Better advice. Lower costs.

How It Works?

Three steps, one continuous process

1.png

Step 1

Start

Open the Letter of Wishes tab in your Immortalize dashboard. Answer bite-sized guided questions at your own pace — choose from options, edit them, or write your own.

2.png

Give access to the people who need it — family, caregivers, professionals. Go through it with them while you can still answer their questions directly.

Step 2

Share

Step 3

Put it to work

Download and share specific sections — will section to your lawyer, medical preferences to your doctor, care instructions to your caregivers. Each person gets exactly what they need.

When Should You Start?

"Now — before you need it."

The best time is when you're clear-headed and not in crisis. And especially before you see a lawyer, doctor, or financial advisor — walking in already knowing what you want means fewer meetings, better advice, and lower costs.

Already have a will or LPA? Your LOW adds the layer they can't — the context, the reasoning, the personal detail.

The sooner you start, the more prepared your planning becomes.

Who Is Letter of Wishes for?

1

You're a parent

Leave notes for each child and clear guidance for their guardians — values you want upheld, practical instructions, specific wishes for how they should be raised or supported.

2

You have specific care preferences

How you want to be checked on. Your hygiene standards. Your daily routine. The way you want to be spoken to. Your carers need to know — and they won't think to ask.

3

Your parents are getting older

Help them write one now. The conversations it starts are often the most meaningful a family ever has.

4

You've already done your will or LPA

Your LOW adds what those documents can't — the why, the context, the personal detail.

5

You've been putting it off

You don't need all the answers. Skip what you don't know yet and come back to it. Update anytime. Start with one thing you'd want someone to know.

Your Letter Is Just the Beginning

Writing your Letter of Wishes is one of the most important things you can do for the people you love. But it works best when it doesn't sit alone.

Who will actually find it when it matters? Do they know what assets exist? Is there someone with the authority to step in?

On Immortalize, your Letter of Wishes connects to your Schedule of Assets, your trusted Connections, and your Elderhood Checklist — so every piece of your plan knows about the others. Nothing scattered. Nothing missed. Just clarity, ready when the people you love need it most.

That's where YEPPA comes in. YEPPA is Immortalize's built-in digital concierge — it ties all your planning tools together behind the scenes, so as your plan grows, everything stays synced automatically.
